Work / Conard TMS 2.0

Conard Transportation

Rebuilding a trucking company's TMS without stopping the trucks

Conard Transportation runs its fleet on a TMS that grew up over many years. Rather than a risky big-bang rewrite, we're rebuilding it in place: a modern web app over versioned APIs, migrated screen by screen, with the legacy system kept in sync until each piece is retired.

The challenge

What needed solving

The legacy system was tied to aging Windows servers and years of accumulated pages, and it runs dispatch, drivers, equipment and accounting for a working fleet. Downtime isn't an option.

The business needed improvements every week while the old system was steadily retired underneath it.

  • FMCSA

What we built

  • A screen-by-screen migrationA living migration map tracks every legacy page to its new route, so each screen moves only once it is proven in the new app.
  • Fuel surcharge on autopilotDiesel prices are pulled hourly from the U.S. Energy Information Administration and turned into per-customer surcharge bands, with a full history of every change.
  • A partner APIKey-authenticated, read-only endpoints let sister systems, like the warehouse WMS, price fuel from the same source of truth.
  • Telematics and safety dataSamsara vehicle data and FMCSA carrier lookups are wired straight into dispatch workflows.
