Work / Team Board

Conard Logistics

The office TV everyone actually stops to watch

Conard Logistics had a whiteboard problem: who's in, who's at lunch, which delivery is hot today. We turned their office TVs into a living map of the building, where every teammate is an illustrated character who walks to their desk the moment they check in from their phone.

The challenge

What needed solving

The old status board was a table on a TV. Accurate, and completely ignored. The team wanted something people would actually look at, and that would stay current without anyone babysitting it.

It also had to run unattended on office TVs for weeks at a time, survive browsers restoring stale tabs, and look crisp on everything from a 1080p panel to a 4K screen.

What we built

  • A living floor planTraced from a hand-drawn office sketch and redrawn as an illustrated, game-style map. Characters walk the halls, sit at their own desks and leave footprints behind them, a nod to a certain wizard's map.
  • Check in with your phoneScan the code on any TV and tap your face. Your phone remembers you, and every screen in the building updates within seconds.
  • A custom character pipelineWe briefed an AI image model on each teammate's look, then wrote our own tooling to key out backgrounds, slice sprite sheets, align feet and animate walk cycles. Yes, we fixed the moonwalking.
  • Built to run unattendedTVs check for new versions and reload themselves, animation loops have hard safety caps, and times display in Central time from a UTC database.
